Welcome to the Sword Room, a site featuring the blogging and video teaching ministry of Pastor Pete Holdaas. Pastor Pete became a Christian in Seattle in the Jesus People Movement shortly after graduating from high school in 1971. He is a graduate of Vancouver Bible College and Canadian Baptist Seminary. He was a full-time pastor-teacher for nearly 33 years (1977-2009). Across four decades he taught the Word of God an average of fifty Sundays a year. His teaching style is personal, and he is known for his ability to break down the deep truths of Scripture and present them in an easy-to-understand way. Pastor Pete and his wife Connie have been married since 1976. They have six grown children and four grandchildren. They make their home in Whatcom County, Washington.

The videos, or swordvids, are about ten minutes in length and are categorized by topic in sequence. Please take time to visit the suggested reading page and to use the links provided to other biblically-based sites. On some monitors under bright flourescent light the gray lettering can be difficult to read. Sorry about that, but it is what it is. I love the graphic layout, and I really can’t change it without messing up the total concept. If you are having problems turn down the lights and the text should be readable.
